Boston Woman Steals Firefighter’s Wallet from Station During Call

BOSTON, Mass. (July 30, 2014 arrest) —
How low can you go? A Boston woman could win the award for the lowest.
With two kids by her side, Aleesha McEachern allegedly walked into a fire station July 7 and stole a firefighter’s wallet while he was out battling a fire, authorities say. The woman then went on a shopping spree, charging $400 in merchandise on the Aleesha McEachernhero’s card, police said.
McEachern was identified with the help of security footage from the fire station that showed her removing the wallet, a fire official said. Then tips from the public led to her capture.
The firefighter told investigators he left his wallet at the station to dry since it got wet during a previous fire call. The hero didn’t realize the wallet was missing until the next day and then noticed the charges while checking his bank online.
Public works employees discovered the wallet in a trash can and everything was in it, including the debit card used to make purchases at Target and Famous Footwear.
McEachern faces charges of larceny, identity fraud and credit card fraud.
