A California burglar was arrested after he left his cell phone at the scene of an attempted burglary, authorities said.
Officers in Hanford were dispatched to a residential burglary at 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015. The homeowner told police that he returned and found a burglar inside their home.
Hopper reportedly dropped a bag of items he planned to steal and ran from the home. The victim chased after the suspect.
Officers located 18-year-old Daniel Hopper and found his cell phone inside a bag left at the crime scene.
The teen was arrested for residential burglary and probation violation. Hopped was sentenced over the summer to three years of probation for a previous burglary.
