A heavy-duty shoplifter made off with thousands in merchandise from outlet stores but left behind her cell phone and a puddle of urine, according to Florida authorities.
It was just enough evidence to track her down.
Brooke Amber Sutton, 27, was arrested Jan. 29, 2016 and charged with felony retail theft. Cops recovered $2,100 in stolen merchandise from stores at the Silver Sands Outlets in Miramar Beach.
Employees of the Ann Taylor store told cops that they found several security tags in a fitting room along with a cell phone and a puddle of urine.
Cops quickly traced the phone to Sutton, and the woman’s husband told officers by phone what his wife was driving. They spotted the car in the mall parking lot and recovered the stolen stuff, including six pairs of designer jeans, lots of costume jewelry and Ann Taylor clothes.
