A Maine woman who was wearing a ‘Stop Domestic Violence” T-shirt was arrested recently for criminal domestic violence.
Emily Wilson, 38, of Sangerville, was accused of threatening her husband with a gun and shooting it in their bedroom during an argument. Prosecutors say Wilson was angry with her husband about an alleged affair.
That’s why she grabbed a loaded .45-caliber handgun and fired a shot into the mattress. Authorities say she also grabbed his wrist.
Wilson, who is reportedly a social studies teacher at a high school in Maine, was charged with domestic violence and reckless conduct, authorities said.
A mugshot from the April 2016 arrest made the popular website, The Smoking Gun, which called the arrest “ironic.” The purple T-shirt features a ribbon and the words “Stop Domestic Violence.”
