DES MOINES, Iowa (July 10, 2014 arrest)
An Iowa man with a silly name was arrested July 10 for fighting at a bar and returning with a hatchet, authorities said.
The 26-year-old man began fighting with other patrons at Cheap Seats Sports Bar in Des Moines at one in the morning. Officers walked over to him, but the suspect backed away, saying it was just a bad argument. The other patron claimed Miller had taken off his shirt to fight.
Friends of the funny-name man agreed to take the suspect to his home near the bar. But Miller was seen again moments later, and a witness later informed cops he had entered with a hatchet and left it in another area of the bar.
Miller became confrontational and claimed police had the “wrong guy,” but he didn’t deny the hatchet was his.
Miller was arrested and charged with going armed with intent, public intoxication and a parole violation.
