A New York dummy lost her case on Judge Judy and then got arrested for stealing on the flight home after taping the TV show, authorities said.
Melissa Perez, 26, of the Bronx, lost her case tried by Judge Judy, which is taped in California. She then returned home – but not before getting into trouble by taking an iPad.
Police say Perez was on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to JFK Airport on April 29, 2015 with a friend who also appeared on the show when the incident occurred. She allegedly snatched an iPad in a bag from a flight attendant, Port Authority sources said.
The pilot asked passengers over the speaker to search for the missing bag but a crew member discovered it under Perez’s seat in 13A about an hour before the plane landed.
The bag was empty and the iPad was stowed in Perez’s carry-on, police said. She had also taken a passenger’s U.S. passport and credit card, hiding it in her underwear.
The suspect was arrested for grand larceny, possession of stolen property and marijuana possession. She has eight prior arrests on her record.
