A Texas mother provided alcohol and marijuana to eight middle-schoolers at a sleepover in November, 2015, authorities said.
Mandy Wells got caught when two of the kids posed for an Instagram photo with a Hello Kitty pipe. The woman asked the children to delete the photo but she was too late since one of the girls’ mothers saw it and asked her daughter about it.
Springtown police arrested the 32-year-old mother after her confession that she gave the kids two beers each and let them share some marijuana. The partygoers included two 12-year-olds, two 14-year-olds and four 13-year-olds.
The children told police that Wells allowed them to drink beer since they were staying there overnight. Later, she asked if they wanted to smoke weed, which Wells passed around.
After the Instagram photo, police searched the woman’s home on Nov. 12. She was arrested a week later on a felony charge of delivery of marijuana to a child and the misdemeanor charge of furnishing alcohol for a minor.
The children living with Wells were removed by Texas Child Protective Services.
