A Virginia burglar who broke into several businesses was found sleeping inside a salon, lying naked in one of the tanning beds, authorities said.
Joseph Carl Bryant, 33, is accused of breaking into an auto parts store and ending up in the tanning salon nearby after breaking a window on Jan. 3, according to Staunton police. Officers discovered the break-ins after finding a 1991 Chevrolet with thousands in damage parked outside.
The Federated Auto Parts store had been broken into and ransacked, leading police to look around and discover the break-in next door at Rayz Tanning salon. Police searched the inside one of the closed rooms inside of a tanning bed, police said.
That’s where they found Bryant, asleep and naked. A salon employee told police it appeared Bryant explored all 18 tanning rooms before picking the bed officers found him in.
Damages to the salon were estimated at more than $2,000. In addition to the broken window, police also found bottles of tanning oil everywhere.
Bryant was charged with two counts of burglary and three counts of felony destruction of property.
